The year 2025 has begun with a real highlight for Pro Pickleball and the entire pickleball community in Switzerland! After introducing over 2400 children to pickleball in 2024 together with the Swiss Pickleball Association , we are continuing our mission to inspire even more young people to take up this great sport.
Pickleball is conquering schools in the canton of Basel-Landschaft
The development in the canton of Basel-Landschaft is particularly encouraging , where Pro Pickleball has already introduced pickleball to 280 children as an introductory activity in physical education classes. Thanks to the generous support of the Basel-Landschaft Sports Office , especially from Christian Saladin , several thousand children will now have the opportunity to learn about and try pickleball as part of their school curriculum.
The training sessions were a complete success! It's impressive to see how quickly the children learned the basics of the game and, above all , how much fun they had . Our conclusion after these first sessions is clear: 99.9% of the children had a great time playing!
Pickleball – More than just a game
Pickleball is a perfect blend of skill, strategy, movement, and endurance . It is easy to learn, promotes coordination, and is also a fast-paced, tactical, and incredibly motivating sport.
It was especially wonderful to see children from diverse sporting backgrounds playing together and celebrating successes. The steep learning curve truly allows everyone to progress quickly and keep up with enthusiasm.

The feedback from teachers and students was overwhelmingly positive. One of the best reactions came from Jannis M., class teacher of MST , who described his experience with pickleball in a double lesson as follows:
The calendar year had barely begun when a special program was already on the agenda: Pickleball! Magnus and the equipment arrived at the gym, where over 20 pairs of curious eyes awaited the exciting double lesson. As soon as the equipment was gathered, we got started. Through simple and playful exercises, we quickly warmed up and became familiar with the equipment. Soon after, we were playing. Rarely has a sport offered such a steep learning curve while simultaneously being so much fun. The next generation is hooked! 🙂 Thank you so much, Magnus, for your dedication to my kids – fantastic!!!
