Foam paddles are currently among the most exciting developments in pickleball. Now, JOOLA is joining the trend: With the JOOLA POWER FX, the manufacturer is presenting its first pickleball paddle with a full-foam construction.
And JOOLA is making it quite clear where they are heading: more power, more pop, yet still a controlled playing feel.
The new POWER FX is already available from us as a limited pre-order with a 10% discount. We expect the first paddles to arrive in early October 2026.

Why is the JOOLA POWER FX so interesting?
JOOLA has been one of the technological drivers in pickleball for years. With the POWER FX, however, the brand is now taking a remarkable step further.
Instead of a classic polymer honeycomb core, JOOLA uses a Foam Propulsion Core for the POWER FX. The paddle is not simply an existing paddle filled with foam. Rather, JOOLA combines its well-known Propulsion Core technology with a specially tuned full-foam construction.
JOOLA itself refers to it as its first paddle with foam construction.
The idea behind it: the explosive ball acceleration of a modern power paddle should be combined with the unique feedback and stability of a foam construction.
Or, in short: Power should be easier to access.
Adaptive Propulsion Core: Power without a huge swing
At the center of the POWER FX is the Adaptive Propulsion Core.
We are already familiar with Propulsion Core technology from other performance paddles by JOOLA. Through targeted flexibility within the paddle, a spring-like effect is created upon contact with the ball. Especially during drives, counters, and quick speed-ups, this can generate additional ball speed.
In the POWER FX, this concept is now combined with a foam core.
JOOLA describes the result as “Effortless Power”: The player shouldn't necessarily have to swing harder to get more speed out of the ball.
This could be particularly interesting in fast-paced situations at the kitchen. When there is hardly any time for a big swing for a counter or speed-up, pop and rapid energy transfer become especially important.
Full Foam instead of a classic honeycomb core
The real star of the POWER FX, however, is on the inside.
The paddle features a unibody full-foam construction made of EPP foam. This fundamentally distinguishes the structure from many classic pickleball paddles with a polymer honeycomb core.
Full-foam constructions can offer several interesting properties: a homogeneous structure, high stability, and very direct feedback upon ball contact.
Crucial, however, is the tuning of the entire system. JOOLA therefore emphasizes that they did not simply insert foam into a paddle. The foam core, the propulsion core, and the surface construction were developed and tuned together.
The POWER FX is thus less of an experiment and more of JOOLA’s answer to the trend we are currently observing in the high-performance paddle market.
Optimized Surface Layup for grip and spin
Of course, power alone is not enough for a modern paddle.
That is why JOOLA combines the new core with a carbon fiber face and a so-called Optimized Surface Layup.
The arrangement of the individual material layers is intended to both support the paddle’s quick response and generate sufficient grip on the ball.
This is particularly crucial for topspin drives, aggressive third shots, rolls, and speed-ups. The more speed a paddle generates, the more important it becomes to be able to control the ball through spin.
This is exactly where one of the most exciting questions of our field test will lie: How well does JOOLA manage the balancing act between pop, power, and touch with the POWER FX?
Technical specifications of the JOOLA POWER FX
The POWER FX is based on the well-known Perseus geometry and comes exclusively in 16 mm.
| Feature | JOOLA POWER FX |
|---|---|
| Model | JOOLA POWER FX |
| Series / Shape | Perseus |
| Construction | Full Foam / Unibody |
| Core | Foam Propulsion Core |
| Core Material | EPP Foam |
| Thickness | 16 mm |
| Surface | Carbon Fiber |
| Length | 41.9 cm / 16.5" |

With a 5.5-inch handle length, the POWER FX also offers sufficient space for a two-handed backhand. At the same time, the familiar Perseus shape is retained, which many players already know from other JOOLA performance paddles.
Who might find the JOOLA POWER FX interesting?
On paper, JOOLA does not position the POWER FX exclusively as a paddle for professional players. The construction is intended to make power more accessible.
It should therefore be particularly interesting for players who are looking for a modern, offensively oriented paddle and enjoy generating pressure through drives, counters, speed-ups, and fast hands.
At the same time, the 16 mm construction makes the paddle especially exciting. Instead of building an extremely thin power paddle, JOOLA is apparently trying to combine high acceleration with a somewhat more substantial playing feel.
However, we will not judge how much control is actually there based on a data sheet.
We are taking the paddle onto the court.
We are testing the POWER FX at the RTA2000 Farnham 🇬🇧
This weekend, the JOOLA POWER FX will have a pretty serious first day on the job with us.
We are taking the paddle to the RTA2000 Farnham at Hurlands Pickleball & Padel in the UK and will be testing it extensively there.
For us, this is a much more interesting part than pure manufacturer specifications. How does the paddle behave during fast counters? How much pop actually comes from the foam core? How big is the sweet spot? How controllable are dinks and resets? And how does the paddle feel after several hours on the court?
These are exactly the points we want to take a look at.
After the weekend, we will therefore not only be able to talk about the technical data, but also to evaluate the POWER FX with our experience from actual gameplay.
Limited Pre-Order: 10% discount on the JOOLA POWER FX
Those who do not want to wait for our test can pre-order the JOOLA POWER FX at Pro Pickleball now.
For the launch, we are offering a limited pre-order with a 10% discount. Shipping is currently scheduled to begin in early October 2026.
This makes the POWER FX one of the most exciting JOOLA new releases this year. Not just because of a new color or a small adjustment to an existing core, but because JOOLA is using a true foam construction for the first time with this paddle, and it comes in a nice box.
Will Adaptive Propulsion Core + Full Foam + Carbon Fiber Surface actually work together as well as the technical data promises?
We will find out this weekend in Farnham.
