The year 2025 has started with a real highlight for Pro Pickleball and the entire pickleball community in Switzerland! After successfully introducing pickleball to over 2400 children in 2024 together with the Swiss Pickleball Association, we are continuing our mission to get even more young people excited about this great sport.
Pickleball takes over schools in the canton of Basel-Landschaft
The development in the canton of Basel-Landschaft is particularly gratifying, where Pro Pickleball has already played pickleball with 280 children as an introduction in gymnastics classes. Thanks to the great support of the Basel-Landschaft Sports Office, especially Christian Saladin, several thousand children will now have the opportunity to get to know and try out pickleball in school lessons.
The training sessions were a complete success! It is impressive to see how quickly the children learn the basics of the game and, above all, how much fun they have doing it. Our balance after these first units is clear: 99.9% of the children had a lot of fun playing!
Pickleball – More than just a game
Pickleball is a perfect mix of skill, strategy, movement, and endurance. It is easy to learn, promotes coordination, and is also a fast, tactical, and incredibly motivating sport.
It was particularly nice to see children with different athletic backgrounds playing together and celebrating successes. The steep learning curve really allows everyone to make quick progress and keep up with enthusiasm.

The feedback from teachers and students was consistently positive. One of the nicest reactions came from Jannis M., class teacher MST, who describes his experience with pickleball in a double lesson as follows:
The calendar year had barely begun when a special program was already on the agenda: pickleball! Magnus and the equipment arrived in the gym, where over 20 curious pairs of eyes were waiting for the exciting double lesson. As soon as the material was picked up, it started. Through simple and playful exercises, we quickly warmed up and got to know the material. Shortly after, we started playing. Rarely has a sport allowed such a steep learning curve while providing so much fun. The next generation is hooked! 🙂 Thank you, Magnus, for your commitment to my kids – great job!!!
